Clinical Research Oversight Council

Background

Clinical Research Oversight Council (CROC) has oversight of clinical research activities at the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC).  CROC is chaired by the Associate Director of Clinical Investigations and also includes: Medical Director of the CTO; four representatives from the UACC Disease-Oriented Teams or the Multi-Disciplinary Teams; at least one Program Leader from each Research Program; the Chair or Vice-Chair of the Scientific Review Committee; the Chair of the DSMB, the Associate Director of Shared Resources or Designee; and UACC administrative leadership.

One of the responsibilities given to CROC by the UACC Director is to evaluate the resources necessary to support the development of clinical research trials. Concepts for investigator-initiated trials (IIT)  that request UACC funding support must be presented to the CROC at the concept stage for determination of funding. The approval of the Disease Team (DOT/MDT) must be given prior to the submission.

The request for proposals will occur on a quarterly basis (January 1, April 1, July 1, October 7).

Please direct all questions and submissions to Elizabeth McPeak, CROC Administrator, (520) 626-1155.
