Professional Bio:

Dr. Sikorskii has built a research program in biostatistics with an emphasis on health outcomes and study design. In collaboration with health scientists, she has developed a number of measurement tools for patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and proposed and implemented approaches to handling measurement and analysis of multiple symptoms experienced by cancer patients. The denition of response to the management of symptoms is used in the design of a randomized trial that shifts from “one-size-ts-all” interventions to multi-stage intervention sequences that are tailored to individual patients based on their response to the previous intervention. The sequential multiple assignment randomized trial (SMART) design allows for building the evidence base for multi-staged interventions and analytical techniques, such as Q-learning, allowing production of evidence-based decision rules for sequencing of interventions.
