Professional Bio: 

Debra A. Wong, MB, BCh, BAO, MD is a medical oncologist at The University of Arizona Cancer Center at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. She specializes in gynecologic malignancies, melanoma and other skin cancers, as well as the integration of supportive care throughout the cancer continuum. Dr. Wong is board certified in internal medicine, hospice and palliative medicine and medical oncology. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the Arizona Clinical Oncology Society, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Wong received her medical degree and licentiates in medicine and surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. She completed her internship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center/Tufts University in Boston, followed by an Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center in Los Angeles. She then completed a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Cedars-Sinai/ West LA VA before moving to Arizona for her ever-evolving health care system, Dr. Wong stays abreast of changes to determine how to enhance the patient experience. She supports a seamless patient referral process and strives to facilitate patients’ access to quality care. Dr. Wong’s clinical research interests include measuring and improving patient- and provider based outcomes. She focuses on being present, mindful, and communicating well with others to provide whole-person care with the support of the interdisciplinary team.
