UACC Information

UACC Organizational Unit(s):
Professional Bio:

The goal of the University of Arizona Cancer Center Administrative Unit is to provide services that support and enhance members' scientific activities and their collaborative efforts.  Specifically, the Administrative Unit oversees fiscal management, human resources, shared resource administrative operations, cancer center membership, grants and contracts databases, public and internal communications, management of pilot projects and other developmental funds, and facility/space management.  Importantly, the Unit is involved in the coordination of and participation in Center-wide strategic planning and evaluation efforts.

Ms. Mullins has 23 years of research administration experience, the last 20 of which include positions as the chief administrator for cancer centers.  She has co-authored more than 15 successful competing federal grant applications, as well as directed the successful submission of four Cancer Center Support Grant applications and a General Clinical Research Center grant.  Her experience includes administrative positions with start-up cancer centers and longstanding comprehensive cancer centers.

In addition, Ms. Mullins has led cancer center administrative operations at both matrix and freestanding centers.  Her background provides a unique and well-rounded understanding of cancer center operations, which is critical to the UACC's success.  Moreover, her past service as ad hoc reviewer for the Cancer Centers Initial Review Group makes her well suited to assist with the current application.
