Professional Bio: 

A great need still exists for tools that are able to diagnose cancer and monitor its response to therapy in a noninvasive manner. Dr. Cardenas' long-term research goal is to improve the treatment and diagnosis of cancer through the development of new tools and strategies for MRI and other modalities. Since he became a member of the University of Arizona Cancer Center as a Research Professor a year ago, he has been developing new pulse sequences and curve fitting methods for acidoCEST MRI in collaboration with Drs. Edward A. Randtke and Mark D. Pagel.
